Introduction to the Social Media Unwind Series

Hi and welcome to the Social Media Unwind Series.

Bite-sized mindfulness meditations for online entrepreneurs and digital content creators.

My name is Andréa Jones and my goal with this series is to help relieve the stress, tension, and anxiety that can sometimes come as a result from spending time on social media.

As a social media strategist, I had to learn how to do this for myself.

By the end of 2016, I was settling into my business running social media accounts for dozens of clients for 3 years. I was anxious and started feeling panic for every dingle or chime that came through my phone. I was overwhelmed and starting to wonder if social media work is for me.

I was at the end of my rope.

Little did I know my life would change soon. My new year’s resolution in 2017 was to turn off my notifications and learn how to meditate.

At the time, social media and anything digital felt completely overwhelming. But I found solace in managing my relationship with social media. And managing my relationship with my own mind through meditation.

I found myself loving social media again. I found joy in turning to my favorite platforms and connecting with people all over the world. I found peace in not feeling the urge to be online all day, every day. I found excitement in trying new things and building my business.

I hope to help you do the same.

The purpose for this series is to give you a sense of relief.

Each session will be short in length so that it’s easy to add to your busy life.

Each session is focused on simple, guided meditations to help you navigate any negative feelings you may have around social media.

Because social media in and of itself is not bad or negative. Oftentimes, it’s the thoughts we have about social media that turn into negative emotions.

My goal is to help you find happiness in social media again. If you’re an online entrepreneur or digital content creator, you know how important social media can be. It’s a powerful tool that allows you to connect with your people.

Social media is a tool. Nothing more. Nothing less. You’re supposed to use it and not allow it to use you.

That’s all for today. I’ll see you soon.

Bye for now.
